A Day After Session at Wilbur Hot Springs

I love brides that have a great idea. I especially love brides that want to trek with me a half mile into the wilderness.  Uyen and Vinh the day after their amazing wedding drove with me 2 hrs , I think it ended up being three to this beautiful out of the way spot.  The people at Wilbur Hot Springs were very accommodating with their facilities.. So, for all you brides out there that wonder why would I want to do a day after session with me. Here’s why:

1) The day of your wedding can be hectic and rushed and sometimes can take away from the time that we have to take your pictures,

2) The day after is great! We can plan the perfect location.

3) You get to wear your dress again! So much fun! When are you going to get to wear it again?

4) You get to shoot with me on a non-rushed day.

5) The day is all about you, no distractions from anyone, an intimate time for you and your loved one to create some new memories!

Okay, here are the pictures, enjoy!

Malibu Charity Engagement Session Part One Seong and Julia & Mari-jo and Sean

Jen O Sullivan put together this fabulous event to benefit the charity Letmesail This was an awesome time to shoot some incredible couples. They got to test drive me as I got to do the same with them. Finding the right wedding photographer is an important decision. You want to mesh with the personality of the photographer and like the way they shoot you! This was fun because we got to try out each other literally. I was blessed to get to shoot 4 couples! Here are some pics from the engagement sessions.

The First couple was Julia and Seong! I loved the gentle spirit of Julia with Seong. They truly have a passion that was amazing to capture.

Last but not least my favorite!

My 2nd Couple was Mari-Jo and Sean! These two loved to laugh more than anything. They were so much fun!

My experience at the Scott Robert Workshop in San Francisco! All I can say is Awesome!

Scott Robert just had a workshop in San Francisco! It was awesome! I learned so much from him, that now I just need to look all over my notes and do each step that he said and I know one day I will be as amazing as him. He really was giving out the secrets. As he covered each point, I was thinking is he really telling me this right now! Wow! He covered everything from off camera lighting, posing, and how to look for light everywhere.
He gave us tips on the best places to find the best light, all things I never learned in from any other workshop or class. After the workshop, we got to shoot models downtown in San Francisco which was awesome! Here are my highlights from the day!

Meet Lisa Husmann, Innovative Wedding Planner of The Platinum Event

One of the greatest things about my job is the amazing connections that I get to make with my couples and vendors.
I decided to interview Lisa Husmann of The Platinum Event. I recently attended her launch party and got to see her talent in person! She is so gifted and creative and is one of the sweetest persons, that I have met.   She literally blew me away! Check out my favorite pictures from the event!

What is the Platinum Event?

The Platinum Event is a fresh, young company filled with excited and passionate planners who are determined to make each of our brides’ wedding day perfect.
Your Vision. Your Style. Your Wedding.

Why do you love being a wedding planner?

I LOVE being a wedding Planner and Floral designer because I enjoy getting to know my bride and groom! I love to hear their love story and turn it into a way to translate that in their wedding. My passion is especially for Floral Design. I have been doing it for six years now and I’m obsessed with it! Just can not turn my brain off when I start thinking about flowers. I always tell my brides that the moment they tell me their color scheme I will start dreaming about it until it’s perfect :)
I have the best job in the world!

How did you meet Jessica Conroy? (me!)

I first saw Jessica’s work merely by chance. There was a picture that captured my eye of a beautiful girl in her wedding dress in the snow. She was glowing and radiant! I looked further into the album and was continually amazed at the beautiful angles and the way the whole moment was captured. I contacted Jessica because I wanted to build our working relationship so I could send my brides looking for a photographer to her. I always love finding vendors I personally fall in love with because I want my brides to feel that way about them too. My experience with Jessica has been so delightful. She took pictures of my personal Launch Party/Wedding Showcase and I was literally blown away at the pictures. My jaw hit the floor when I saw how beautifully she captured the details of my floral arrangements. She really had the knowledge and creative vision to make my event POP! Thank you so much Jessica for being a special part of my event!

What would you tell someone that aspired to be just like you?

I would tell my assistants and anyone else who wants to go into this to do some wedding or large events first. Find out if you really love it. You have to LOVE it in order to not give up when the going gets hard. Tag along on a few weddings that a local hotel or wedding planner has. I’m sure they’d love the help and you will learn a lot!

What is special or unique about you?

I’m known for a few things:
-My creativity for “WOW” moments
-Making or maintaining family traditions
-Classically beautiful floral arrangements
-Our unique style for floral design is the rhinestone collared Calla Lillies. This is our Platinum Event signature.

:)

Contact Lisa today for your complimentary consultation, and you’ll have the opportunity to discuss all your ideas and needs for your wedding in detail.
